Different modes of transportation available for the common man in cities are buses – private or public, taxis, auto-rickshaws. Some of the metros have trams, underground metros, local trains etc. Almost every Indian family has a two wheeler or a bicycle of their own. Many use their private cars for traveling. The rich and the famous use their helicopters, chartered aircrafts, yachts etc. for traveling from one place to another. To travels across from one place to another in the country we can use the roadways, waterways, railways and airways whereas to travel across countries – waterways and the airways are commonly used.

These several modes of transportation in a city, as big as the metros, are one of the major causes of traffic congestion and pollution. It has become increasingly impossible to travel in the public transport and not getting stuck for endless hours in a traffic jam. Your woes do not end here; you could be traveling for long distances, standing on your two legs because you have not found a place to sit. Such are the plights of traveling in a public transport, almost in all big cities. Furthermore, the sky rocketing prices of fuel have made it difficult to afford private taxis, auto rickshaws or even metros for the common man to travel.

On a longer duration, such kind of traveling only eats into the monthly income, making the term “saving” only a term and nothing more. To make the matters worse, in the name of development, you will find numerous roads being dug up and the work is left unfinished. The blame game starts across the various works department but the common man has to suffer in silence. Such conditions of the roads only add to traffic congestion, inaccessibility to public transport etc. It leads to lot of chaos and turmoil if there is no traffic control system at the necessary points and junctions. The chaos increases in the peak hours and to reach home is the biggest nightmare of every driver in the car, stuck amidst in the traffic.
